Established in 1990, Plasmine Technology, Inc. is dedicated to providing industry-leading sizing products and technical support to the paper industry. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Harima Chemicals Group, Inc., headquartered in Osaka, Japan, Plasmine proudly serves as North America’s major supplier of rosin-based internal sizing additives for paper manufacturing.

With its corporate office located in Pensacola, Florida, and a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bay Minette, Alabama, Plasmine specializes in producing pine-based chemicals. Our flagship product is rosin dispersions. Rosin is a bio-based, renewable chemical derived from pine trees. Rosin is environmentally sustainable, does not compete with food crops, and does not deplete soil resources. The end applications of our products span paper manufacturing, construction, and beyond.

Rosin is obtained by refining pine tree resin and has been used by humans for a diverse range of activities over the ages. The natural sticky property of rosin in rosin bags helps baseball players grip the ball better, and violin players create sound by stabilizing the bow on the stringed instrument. Pine resin has been integral to human life for more than two millennia, and we continue to make use of rosin in a multitude of modern conveniences, including resin products, various chemicals for papermaking, electronic materials, and other useful everyday items.
Unlike fossil fuels (oil and coal) that will eventually run out, forestation makes the pine tree a truly renewable resource with a life cycle of 20 to 30 years.
